Urban Winter Session

This kid is just adorable!!! He was so raring to go during this shoot. It was soooo cold, but his enthusiasm got me so excited, that I forgot how freezing it was outside. He totally fit into the "Winter Urban Scene" I was trying to portray.

As I was processing his pictures, I started to realize what kind of style I wanted to achieve in my own work. Initially, I liked the vintage look, but I was drawn to the more vibrant pictures. The ones where the eyes pop!!! Brandon's eyes were so beautiful and captivating that I wanted to focus in on those baby blues.

The Machen Family

This family is truly special. Chris, Carrie, Dylan and Madelon were so fun to work with. Chris initially worked for the National Guard and now serves in the United States Army. They had a short stay in Alaska, but are excited to head to their next assignment in Monterrey, California(I'm so jealous). Wishing them many blessings on their new adventure.

The Pritchard Family

Another session with a lovely family. I have to give it up to them, they toughed out the freezing weather(it was about -2ยบ). You couldn't tell though, in these photos Beth and Justin look as happy as can be.

Back to School

Fall of 2010 was bitter sweet.  My youngest daughter, Julia, was heading off to kindergarten, that meant that all of my kids were in school full time.  I thought I was going to be bursting with energy with all of the free time I had.  But I have to admit, the first week was pretty lonely. I was so used to taking care of my kids that I didn't know what to do with myself when they weren't with me.  Well, that was short-lived, I started to get focused.  I had always wanted to hone my skills as a photographer, so I signed up for an online workshop concentrating on shooting manually.  My kids and puppy regret that I had taken that course because they ended up being the subjects for all of my assignments.  These are some of the pictures I had shot for that class.
