I had the opportunity to photograph three generations of beautiful ladies[Mimi, Cindy(also known as Nana), Jessyca, Hannah, Krissily and Trinity]. There is nothing more special to me than family. When I see the bond that is passed down from mother to child it brings such a connection for me in my pictures.

Baby Abby
If you stop to contemplate the intricacies that are involved in creating the human being it would just boggle your mind. God is so meticulously detailed with His creation. It truly is a miracle. Baby Abigail is one of those miracles. I met her on the first day she was born. I have seen her grow into this beautiful, adorable "marshmellow panda"(a term of endearment my kids have coined for her). It is so exciting to be able to witness the growth of this sweet baby girl.

The Ramirez Family
There are just some people who get you. When you're around them, you don't have to be anybody but yourself . Those people are the Ramirezs. Our families have known each other for years. We consider them our "BFFs"-Best Family Friends. This summer we had a family vacation reunion in Hawaii. It was such an awesome time; it was as though we just picked up where we left off. Hey guys how about Australia next summer!?! :)

The McCandless Family
When I schedule a photo session I tend to envision a theme for that particular person or family to gain inspiration. For the McCandless family, I thought it would be so sweet to plan an all American family picnic. I toted along a vintage picnic blanket, pitcher of lemonade, slices of watermelon, popcorn and all the trappings that would fit perfectly with my picnic theme. But, much to my chagrin(does anyone ever say that anymore!?!) we were attacked with mosquitos (well Mike was)and cotton weed(an allergenic nightmare here in Alaska). Mike, Gina, and their adorable kids, Jordan and Chase, were such troopers. Looking at their beautiful family photos you couldn't tell that they had to endure what I call "occupational hazards." Thanks you guys :)

Baby Joaquin
I love babies. They are the closest beings to angels on this earth. They are adorable and oh they smell so good. My four kids are completely out of the baby stage, so that makes me long to cuddle with a soft, cushy baby. Luckily, my job lends me the opportunity to get my baby fix. When I first saw Baby Joaquin(I think that is such a cool name)I thought, "what a handsome boy." He had a full head of wavy hair, that looked as if it had been styled, and beautiful caramel skin. Another thing that is awesome about Baby Joaquin is both his parents serve in the U.S. Army. Take a look at this cutie.....

The Sanders Family
I have got to say, Anchorage has the nicest people living here. I should know, because I've lived in a lot of different cities. The Sanders Family is no exception. My youngest daughter, Julia, had the pleasure of having Mrs. Sanders(or Hester as I now call her) as her Kindergarten teacher last year. Julia adored her, mostly because Mrs. Sanders has such a nurturing spirit.
I had the privilege of meeting Hester's entire family on the day of their photo shoot early in July at Campbell Creek. They were all such a delight.

The Zamora Family
I met Sandra almost a year ago. She was out in the neighborhood with her kids enjoying the summer day. One thing I noticed about her was her smile. I have never seen Sandra without a smile on her face. I could honestly say that she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is blessed with a wonderful family. Her husband Joshua would say these unexpected jokes that would have me cracking up. Her daughters, Cassidy and Ashley, would play piggy back and pick flowers together. That made it easy for me to capture great shots of them. Liam, the youngest, was full of energy. He did what a toddler was supposed to do, run around a explore. During this session, Sandra gave me a suggestion that would help to entice kids to stay still to take a picture....CANDY!!! Thanks Sandra :)

Tea Party at the Preaching Tree
The girls were asking for a tea party. I thought tea party plus adorable girls equals photo shoot. I made mini top hats and Sophia, Julia, Evie and Amelia dressed in pretty dresses. The location we picked was very sentimental. The kids in the neighborhood would gather under this particular tree and share stories from the Bible. Hence, we named it the "Preaching Tree". The girls sipped tea and ate shortbread cookies with such grace. Capturing moments like this during their childhood is so sweet.

Sam's Session
I find that the eyes evoke more expression than a smile. Not only are Sam's eyes big, hazel and beautiful, but they tell so much about her. She is a very rambunctious and tomboyish girl. She could hang with the dudes in a foot race, and actually beat them. Sam is also very caring and sensitive to other's needs-she would rescue a stray dog in a heart beat if she found one wandering the streets. I saw both sides of her when I took her to an indoor skate park to photograph her session.
My daughters tagged along during this session. They think Sam is so much fun. Once we were at the park, I gave Sam a deal-ten minutes to play then 5 minutes to shoot-DEAL!! Boy did she play. It was rough getting started. The girls had to overcome their fear of the ramps. My daughters took some pretty hard spills, but Sam was right there at their side to ask them if they were alright and to give them a hand up. What a sweet, caring child Sam is.

Katie's Session
Vibrant, joyful, and animated are the characteristics that describe Katie. The photo session I had with her just confirmed to me why I love taking pictures. It's all about the people. We had so much fun. However, the absolute fun happened after all the photographs were taken. Katie, my daughter Sophia(my little assistant) and I had a girl's night out. We went out to dinner and ordered Shirley Temples, ate spicy hot wings, and chit-chatted about the silliest things. Did you know that honey suckles have thorns, and it really hurts if they get stuck in your nose!?! Enough said. Here is the beautiful Katie.

Kenai Fjords Sealife Tour in Seward, Alaska
The weather was beautiful. Perfect for a sea life adventure. We went along with our friends, the Kohn family. We wanted to make sure that we would enjoy this adventure before we went onto the ship, so Lisa and I dosed up on some non-drowsy Dramamine. Let me tell you we were feeling okay on the trip, but afterwards, that stuff knocked us off of our feet!!! Nonetheless, we saw some incredible creatures in the wild. There were a pod of orcas and humpback whales swimming so graciously in the peninsula. They were so breathtaking. Seals, black bears, mountain goats, and bald eagles were out and about too. I feel so blessed that my family and I could witness the beauty of God's creation.
